EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Community Legal Information Association of PEI, Inc. (CLIA) is seeking an Executive Director. The Association is a charitable organization whose mission is to provide the public with understandable, useful information about our laws and justice system.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will assume overall responsibility for providing leadership and direction to CLIA. You will be responsible for implementation of the Association’s mission and for managing day to day operations. Key accountabilities include organizational and financial management, program design and delivery, proposal writing and project management and ensuring excellence in delivery of all CLIA services in the province.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess a university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, together with a broad knowledge of federal and provincial laws and the justice system. As well, you will have high level oral and written communication skills and experience in making presentations. You will be CLIA’s spokesperson in the Island community and on national and regional committees. Competence in Microsoft Office and strong internet research capabilities are requirements. Some knowledge of French and experience in the not-for-profit sector are assets. The Executive Director’s role is multi-faceted and requires strong organizational skills and strategic thinking. The candidate also must also have demonstrated leadership ability.
Over more than 25 years of providing high quality legal information to the Island community, CLIA has developed an excellent reputation with the public, community organizations and the justice community in the province. The Executive Director will be expected to maintain that reputation in a dynamic environment working collaboratively with the Board, staff and other organizations.
