Executive Director, PEI Division
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is to eradicate cancer and enhance the quality of life for people living with cancer. We invest in outstanding cancer research, provide reliable information on all cancers, deliver community-based support programs and lead cancer prevention initiatives. The Society relies on the generosity of donors, corporate supporters and volunteers to achieve its mission.
The Executive Director is accountable to a local Board of Directors for the strategic leadership and operational management of the PEI Division. The Executive Director manages and inspires the staff and a network of volunteers who support the work of the Society Island wide. The ability to build and sustain key relationships with the CCS nation-wide, all levels of government, and with community stakeholders and partners is key to this position.
To be successful in this role, you will have at least five years in a comparable leadership position with responsibility for budget and financial management, reporting to a Board of Directors preferably following a policy governance model. Throughout your career, you have demonstrated your ability to craft and implement a vision, you “connect” with people and are acknowledged for your ability to communicate effectively with individuals, small and large groups as well as with the media. You know how to advocate for a cause and you have experience collaborating with partners to achieve a common goal. You have a strong understanding of and experience with, individual and corporate donor programs and are prepared to move the public profile of the Division forward in revenue developement to ensure funding for its key initiative.
