Energy Efficiency Electrician

Our client is looking for an Energy Efficiency Electrician who will be responsible for the promotion of energy efficiency programs and the delivery of an energy efficient lighting retrofit program for clients in the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors. This is a term position for approximately two years and will end on March 31, 2012.

Key responsibilities include promoting energy efficient products and programs, developing and delivering public information sessions about electrical energy reduction, as well as providing advice to commercial, institutional and industrial organizations on energy efficiency measures and technology. You will also be installing energy efficient lighting upgrades in client facilities in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and other adopted standards.

The successful candidate must be a Certified Electrician possessing valid trades qualification (TQ) issued under the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualification Act as well as have experience in electrical wiring involved in constructing, maintaining and/or inspecting electrical devices. A good understanding of the calculations required for identifying the power and energy consumption of electrical components such as lighting, motors and other electrical equipment must be demonstrated.

As the ideal candidate you are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. You have a working knowledge of computers, word processing, spreadsheets and database systems and are experienced in the preparation of reports, maintaining records and filing information in hard copy and electronic files. The ability to organize and plan workload and be flexible with responsibilities will be an asset.
