The Wind Energy Institute of Canada is an independent non-profit organization that
advances the development of wind energy across Canada through
research, testing,training and collaboration.
Director of Technology
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Technology leads a team of engineers and support staff and is responsible for the development, implementation, operation, monitoring and evaluation of the Institute’s technology program. Key responsibilities include managing aspects of a 10 megawatt Wind R&D Park and Storage System, supervising ongoing research activities, overseeing testing and certification activities, coordinating delivery of technical consultation and advisory services, and furthering the Institute’s role in academic research nationally and internationally.
As the ideal candidate you have post-secondary education in Engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical. A related Master’s degree or PhD would be an asset. Superior technical knowledge and experience in an energy-related field, including at least five years managing teams, are all essential prerequisites for success in this role. You are familiar with life in small rural communities and are excited about the community and lifestyle to be found on PEI.
