The Canadian Mental Health Association Prince Edward Island Division is presenting Complex Issues. Clear Solutions. on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Charlottetown at the Murchison Centre, 15-17 St. Pius X Avenue.
Workplaces everywhere are learning first hand about the toll that severe stress, emotional difficulties and mental illness can take on everyone at work - from the individual employee experiencing the problem to the co-workers and managers trying to deal with the situation. These sorts of issues also are known to represent at least 50% of all disability claims, so it’s likely that someone in your workplace is affected. What is not well known is how to deal effectively with these issues.
At a time when qualified employees are getting harder to find and to keep, managers need to know how to respond when these issues arise. With a focus on communication and solutions that allow employees to keep working productively, Complex Issues. Clear Solutions will assist your managers and supervisors by providing:
- a learning experience that will enable them to deal with the complex matters of:
- discussing mental health issues with employees
- separating performance issues from health issues
- creating workplace accommodation strategies that work
- avoiding discrimination and human rights violations
- a practical and interactive multi-media presentation
- a new comfort level when discussing mental health issues with employees
Register Early. Seating is Limited. The workshop is limited to a maximum of 16 participants to ensure a highly interactive environment in which to optimize learning.
