* 10 things that we need to do to help our clients
There will be special gifts for the first 10 people to register for the Symposium, prizes for the first 10 people to arrive each morning for the sessions, and many other special ways to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the International Policy Governance® Symposium.
_______________
A True Symposium...
As always, our learning is enriched by sharing and participating. There will be some pre-work and we will be asking participants to be prepared to share ideas, experiences and samples of work.
A Special Learning Opportunity
We will be hearing from David Green and Susan Mogenson as they present their work on a Regional Governance Center in Wisconsin.
Since 1996, when we began holding this regular symposium, many things have changed:
our knowledge of Policy Governance®,
the faces around the table,
the number of boards interested in improving their governance.
One thing that hasn't changed is our unwavering commitment to improve the practice of Policy Governance® consulting.
This 10th symposium will, once again, be focused on the Policy Governance® consultant, whether you are an informal or formal consultant to a board. Our experience has shown us that consultants who make a difference have the following qualities:
they know their topic
they understand the depth of Policy Governance® theory;
they continually improve their practice of consulting, and
they pay close attention to implementation with their clients while understanding and using theories of change, learning, and group process.
This year's symposium
topics will include:
How to "attract" your perfect board. Do you have your Strategic Attraction Plan? Based on the law of attraction described in the best-selling book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, as well as the book "Attract your perfect customer" by Stacey Hall and Jan Brogniez
Supporting a board through change - strategies to help a board
Monitoring to manage risk and accountability using policy writing as well as monitoring reports for both ELs and Ends. We will work on this continually challenging and important area of Policy Governance® implementation by analyzing samples of policies and monitoring reports, and working together to create new strategies to help boards be successful
Challenges faced by Policy Governance® consultants and how to meet them
