All things involving people change; it is inevitable. HRA, like every organization, is experiencing change as well. We have lots of exciting developments to tell you about, and we also want to share with you some decisions that have been made by members of our team to strike out and do something new which is near and dear to them.
Michele Dorsey, who has been a partner at HRA since its early days, has decided to chart a new course for herself. She is excited by a plan to develop an independent legal business that will provide her with a change from the work she has been doing so well for a long time. Michele will be leaving HRA on June 30, and we all recognize her contributions to HRA’s growth and development over the years and wish her the best with her new endeavor.
Also making a change this month is Shanna Doyle who has been an HR consultant with us since her graduation from UPEI in 2000. She has been a valued member of our human resources consulting team, working as a professional recruiter as well as providing support to a variety of larger projects with other HRA team members. With two adorable younger men in her life (they haven’t started school yet), Shanna has opted to take more time with her young family at this special time in their lives.
We are a close team at HRA and both Michele and Shanna will be missed greatly.
As if that isn’t enough! A number of our other HRA team members have exciting developments in their professional lives to share:
Wayne McMillan, one of HRA’s founding partners, has decided that the summer of 2011 is a good time to transition his CEO responsibilities to another Partner. Despite his decision to step back from the “managing the business” responsibilities, Wayne continues to serve his many valued clients as an active HRA consultant for the foreseeable future.
Kathryn Coll has not only taken on the role of President of the Greater Area of Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce as of May, but has also stepped up to take on the Managing Partner role for HRA as Wayne transitions the CEO responsibilities over the next couple of months.
HRA bids a warm welcome to Matt Walters and Jenene Crane. Matt recently graduated from UNB Law School, and is now in the process of articling in order to join the PEI Law Society as a fully-fledged lawyer next year. He has a keen interest in advocacy work and looks forward to opportunities to use his human resource and reference-checking background for his clients in a whole new way. In this edition, Matt offers a summary on dismissal decisions concerning the theft of drugs in the workplace. Jenene is our most recent addition to the HRA administrative support team to ensure we are responsive to our clients throughout the summer vacation period.
Change & Consistency
This has been a time of accomplishments, welcomes and farewells, but the one constant is that HRA continues to place the success of our clients as our first priority. We remain committed to ensuring that your people resource needs are professionally and creatively addressed for the best possible outcomes. As the team at HRA continues to grow and evolve, our commitment to you, our clients, remains a constant.
