Senior Human Resources Consultant

A vision to see every client experience life to their maximum...

QUEST is a not-for-profit society for adult support and rehabilitation with a mandate to enrich residential, rehabilitation and outreach services for mental health consumers with associated behavioural challenges and skill training requirements.  QUEST is embarking on a period of renewal and growth to meet an expanded mandate and seeks the contribution of a seasoned human resources professional as an integral part of the senior team.

Today, QUEST employs approximately 70 employees across three facilities and an administration office.  With a new facility slated to open in the spring of 2008, the Senior Human Resources Consultant is a newly expanded role responsible for leveraging existing programs while creating new human resources practices and infrastructure to support rapid and significant growth.

The Senior Human Resources Consultant role will appeal to candidates who have solid generalist experience ideally in a health care or not-for-profit environment with both unionized and non-union employees.  Working closely with the Executive Director, the Senior Human Resource Consultant will expand the team of clinical professionals to ensure the leading-edge delivery of client care.  Ideal qualifications will include a degree or diploma in Human Resources, with generalist experience in pro-active recruitment, day-to-day administration of a collective agreement, employee relations, benefits, learning and development, and safety.  Your years of experience will have prepared to you to advise on, develop, implement and administer an HR strategy.  Personally you are dedicated, mature, adaptable and have sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of perseverance and competence.

If you enjoy a dynamic environment, being part of an exceptionally dedicated and professional team, and value making a meaningful contribution at work, then this might be an ideal role for you.  QUEST offers a competitive salary, three weeks of paid vacation, and an attractive benefits and pension plan for this full-time employment opportunity.

While a closing date is noted, early applications are encouraged and will be reviewed as they are received.  Interviews with short listed candidates may commence before the closing date.  As QUEST’s website is under development, you can contact Colleen Alexander at HRA (902.468.3582) if you want to learn more about this senior human resource role.  Or apply to Colleen directly at questhr@hra.ca.
