Gerry has forty years of Human Resource management experience at a senior level in both the private sector with Wabush Mines and ERCO industries, and in the public sector with the Provincial Treasury Board and the Association of School Boards. His HR experience includes recruiting, position classification, contract negotiations, contract administration, grievance and arbitration handling, employee development and training.

Gerry developed and taught Labour Relations and Personnel Management for ten years at Memorial University.  He holds an International Designation in Human Resource Management and served on the Provincial Labour Relations Board, Labour Management Cooperation Committee (LMCC). He has presented over five hundred arbitration cases, and has frequently been appointed as the Employer nominee to Arbitration Boards. He is the past National President of both the International Personnel Management Association and The Canadian Association for the Practical Study of Law in Education.  He has participated at international conferences in Paris and Rome, and was a key presenter at the International EUROPA conference in Manilla.

On the lighter side, Gerry is an active member of the Bally Haly Golf and Curling Club, and has been known to impersonate St. Nicholas on occasion...
