Patsy was a champion highland and step dancer as a youngster but it has taken more than fancy footwork to achieve her accomplishments. She is a nurse lawyer, who has served in a variety of management positions in the health sector ranging from Utilization Management Coordinator, and Assistant Director of Nursing, to acting Executive Director of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, PEI. She has also risen through the ranks of legal service in the Government of PEI culminating in her appointment as Assistant Deputy Attorney General, and later, Deputy Attorney General. Needless to say, Patsy thrives on change and challenge!
Given her work history, it is not surprising that Patsy a multi-skilled consultant, acting as spokesperson at bargaining, representing clients at arbitration, supporting day-to-day administration of collective agreement contracts, investigating workplaces, and facilitating and leading groups through strategic and change processes.
To keep fit, Patsy regularly runs and works out. Patsy enjoyed the opportunity to run the Confederation Bridge in 2005 and 2010, and usually does at least one half-marathon (or longer) each year. The rest of us have a hard time keeping up with this dynamo!
